Why Go Solar?
Solar energy is rapidly becoming the energy choice in Cyprus, driven by the island's unique geographic position, its crucial role in environmental sustainability, and the clear financial benefits for every home and business.
Harnessing Cyprus's Sun
Our Greatest Natural Resource
Cyprus is blessed with one of the highest rates of sunshine in all of Europe. This abundant, year-round sunlight isn't just great for the beach - it's a powerful, untapped resource for energy independence.

Consistent, Reliable Energy All Year
The power of the sun in Cyprus provides a remarkably consistent source of energy. This reliability means you can enjoy a steady supply of clean energy throughout the seasons.

Designed for Mediterranean Sunshine
At S-PRO, our mission is to harness this abundant sunshine effectively. Our systems are expertly designed to capture the maximum amount of energy from the intense Mediterranean sun, ensuring peak performance and reliability.
A Greener Cyprus
Building a Sustainable Future
Choosing solar is a powerful commitment to a cleaner, greener Cyprus. Photovoltaic systems produce zero harmful emissions while operating, and it's a direct contribution to protecting our island's unique natural environment.

Meeting Our National Goals
By switching to solar, you are playing an active role in helping Cyprus meet its binding EU energy goals. Under the EU's ambitious "Fit for 55" package, Cyprus has a national target to produce 33.17% of its total energy from renewable sources by 2030. This is not just a goal - it's a financial imperative. When Cyprus fails to meet its targets, the nation faces significant financial penalties. Your decision to adopt solar energy doesn't just lower your personal bills; it actively helps Cyprus avoid future fines, reduce its carbon intensity—which is currently 54% above the EU average—and secure our island's energy independence.
Smart Savings
Lower Your Energy Costs Immediately
The most immediate benefit of going solar is a significant reduction in your energy costs. By generating your own electricity, you protect yourself from fluctuating grid prices and lower your monthly bills. The high-quality PV systems we install are designed for long-term performance, ensuring you see value from day one.

Maximize Your Investment with Subsidies
The government of Cyprus offers excellent financial incentives to make solar energy more accessible. We provide dedicated support to guide you through the process of applying for government subsidies and support schemes. Our team ensures you take full advantage of every available financial incentive to maximize your investment.

About S-Pro
Dive into Solar World
Entering the world of renewable energy can feel complex, but it doesn't have to be. We have curated the essential resources below to help you understand the technology, terminology, and financial benefits of switching to solar in Cyprus.
Solar Glossary
  • Inverter
The "brain" of your solar system. It converts the Direct Current (DC) electricity generated by the solar panels into Alternating Current (AC) electricity, which is the standard form used by your home appliances and the grid.
  • kWp (Kilowatt Peak)
A unit of measurement that indicates the maximum potential power output of a solar system under ideal standard test conditions. For example, a 4 kWp system can produce up to 4 kilowatts of power when the sun is strongest.
  • kWh (Kilowatt-hour)
The unit used to measure the amount of energy generated or consumed over time. This is the unit you see on your electricity bill; your solar system produces kWhs that offset the kWhs you would otherwise buy from the EAC.
  • Net Metering
A billing mechanism that allows you to "store" excess energy you produce in the grid. If you generate more electricity than you use during the day, that surplus is credited to your account (1 kWh exported = 1 kWh credit) to offset the energy you use at night.
  • Net Billing
A scheme often used for larger commercial systems or new residential contracts (post-transition). Instead of a simple 1-to-1 energy swap, your excess energy is sold to the supplier at a wholesale price, while the energy you consume from the grid is charged at the retail price.
  • Self-Consumption
The act of using the solar energy you generate immediately within your own home or business. Maximizing self-consumption (e.g., running the washing machine when the sun is out) is the most financially efficient way to use a solar system, especially under Net Billing.
  • Hybrid System
A modern solar setup that includes both a grid connection and a battery storage solution. It allows you to store excess energy for use during the evening or power cuts, providing greater independence while still having the grid as a backup.
  • Irradiance
A measure of the power of solar radiation (sunlight) that hits a specific area. Cyprus has very high irradiance levels, meaning solar panels here can produce significantly more energy than in Northern Europe.
